Luck By Chance: Freida Pinto (Slum-dog Millionaire)
Freida Pinto- a 24 year-old Mumbai girl ofMangalorean descent living in suburban Malad. She still
shares a two bedroom flat with her parents& elder sister. Her mother is a school principal & father is a bank manager. An alumnus of carmel of st Joseph school in Malad & an Eng literature gradute from st Xavier's College, Pinto like millions of Indian girls-harboured childhood dreams of becoming an actor. For a short while, She trained under theatre guru Barry John.
She took baby steps into the glamour world in 2006 with half a dozen ads for brands like Wrigleys chewingum, Skoda, Vodaphone, Airtel & Debears.
It was something in 2007 that Freida learned that director Danny Boyle was making a film on Mumbai & was looking out for Indian Actors to play the lead roles. Then a six month long gruelling audition process and she has been selected. Freida became Slumdog millionare's Latika.
None of the other actors has benefited as much as Freida. So Freida is a perfect example of luck by chance.
She will soon Start shooting for three time oscar winner Woody Alen's untitled film-where she will rub shoulder with Noami Watts, Josh Brolin, Sir Anthony Hopkins & Antonio Banderas. Best of luck.
